Bio: Claudia Westermann studied architecture at the University of Karlsruhe, Germany, and the University of Tampere, Finland. Diploma in architecture (Dipl. Ing. Architekt). Licensed member of the German Chamber of Architects. Additional postgraduate studies in the field of media art at the HfG (Hochschule für Gestaltung) at the ZKM in Karlsruhe. Since 2003 Claudia Westermann is a PhD candidate with the Center of Advanced Inquiry in the Interactive Arts (CAiiA) at the Planetary Collegium. She conducts a transdisciplinary research in the field of art, science and technology.
Claudia Westermann’s works have been exhibited and presented internationally including at the Venice Biennale for Architecture, the Moscow International Film Festival, Isea Symposium for the Electronic Arts in Japan, the ZKM in Karlsruhe Germany, the International Festival of Cinema and Technology in New York - USA, the Ciberart Symposium in Bilbao Spain and the Consciousness Reframed Conference in Beijing China. She regularly contributes to conferences worldwide and has been published internationally. Since 2001 she is part of the administration team of the Syndicate Network for Media Culture and Media Art.
