Bio: Lehan Ramsay received a BA in Visual Arts in Australia in 1984 and got involved in Brisbane's emerging art community, helping to set up an art space (The Observatory)  artist network (Queensland Artworker's Alliance) and magazine (Eyeline). In 1988 she was co-recipient of a travelling fellowship to study artist-run activities in New York. In 1991 she moved to Japan "for six months" and found herself unable to return. She completed an MA in Contemporary Art at the University of Western Sydney in 2000, developing a six month serialized "visual novel" exploring the development of characters online.

Presently Assistant Professor of Communication at Future University-Hakodate, Lehan runs a yearly collaborative art project called "Art Harbour" and many other projects, and is a PhD candidate at Monash University's School of Art and Design. Her research project “Reserve” explores the characteristics of emergent systems of creativity.

In August 2004 she began a project called “Standing between Heaven and Earth”; this project involves observing the effect of “losing” a thousand diaries and exploring the various ideas that emerge from this.
